Zeba Talkhani is a writer, publishing professional and an independent literary consultant with over six years of editorial experience. She went to school in Saudi Arabia before getting her BA in Journalism and Communication from Manipal University in India and then an MA in Publishing from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK. She currently lives with her husband in Cheltenham and works for an independent publishing company in Stroud.

She believes in everyone’s unique perspective and wants to engage with writers who need professional help in boosting their manuscripts and querying practices. She is very hands-on with her writers and enjoys the editing process and loves collaborating with creative people globally.

For her, writing is therapeutic and she understands the need for our voices to be raised against inequality, injustice and ignorance. In her own writing, she mines memories and experiences to make sense of everything around her. She advocates thoughtfulness, slow living and passionate pursuits.

She is an avid reader who enjoys books across genres. Her all time favourite books include: Mr. Pip by Lloyd Jones, An Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer, Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka, David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell, Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, I Am Zlatan by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and The Secret History by Donna Tartt. She talks books on her Tumblr Blog and Twitter.

Some of her favourite authors are Elif Shafak, J. K. Rowling, Charles Dickens, Rabih Alameddine, Jhumpa Lahiri, E. M. Forster, Ali Smith, Amy Tan, Margaret Atwood and Milan Kundera. Most of her journals are inscribed with the following reminder: “I’ll not finish books I don’t like.” Having said that, she hasn’t given up on Ulysses. Yet.
